I’m a Bristol-based photographer and writer with an interest in art as a path towards understanding and commonality; giving form to things that are, beforehand, inner and intangible. I use my practice as a space to reflect upon and intuitively explore my experiences, leaning into uncertainty and nuance in hopes of nurturing kinship, tenderness and the feeling of being seen.
My ongoing project ‘In the air around us’ chronicles the relationship between myself and my mother as it shifts and evolves, with the resulting images both externalising and serving as containers for the various thoughts and feelings brought up throughout the process. Seeing the benefits that my mum has found in working collaboratively on this project, alongside knowing how helpful I‘ve found it myself, has reinforced my belief in the ways in which creativity, alongside the conversations it sparks, can become a tool towards our resilience.
